Company Owners come and go.
But one theme stays the same .
Lotus are always in financial trouble.

This is a private Dutch collection, it has f**k all to do with Lotus.

I am getting a bit tired of all this Lotus bashing. It seems that we in the UK always want to rubbish our own car industry. This is dangerous as who is going spend 60k on a car if they perceive the company is about to fail so it could become a self fulfilling prophecy.

There was all this fuss a few weeks ago about Lotus going into administration, the rumour which now appears to be completely unfounded was started by a journalist who is also a director at Caterham so hardly impartial. Since then Behar has gave two magazine interviews giving a reasonably detailed and plausible explanation why this not the case which has barely been reported elsewhere.

The Type 14 Elite caught my eye. My wife and I want one, just not enough to sell off all our other toys and take a loan.

Sorry Clem not my intention to cause offence and apologise for my troll like tone. Just feel that unsubstantiated and inaccurate comments in the media over the last month or so have caused unnecessary damage to the image and arguably the future profitability of Lotus which is very unhelpful at what is clearly a difficult time for the company.I would hasten to add I am not for minute suggesting that the media is responsible for all Lotus ills or the present management are without blame but there is no doubt that the situation has made worse by the media.

"intresting Mr Bond"

A new photograph of the M200

http://m.bonhams.com/press_release/9832/

The estimate seems a little high in my opinion £80,000 to £120,000. I suppose the cars only worth what someones willing to pay... A tad to pricey for a second hand blue M100 ;-)

IMHO the past auctions of this car really reflect it's value.. If I had to put a Price on it...40k... Or there abouts.

More importantly I guess he's keeping the M250... To quote the Italian job... "Pretty car"

I shall watch this auction with of intrest...

Cars at the Goodwood fest can often go well over as the event is now sadly too much of a 'too be seen' place where people like to show off.

Would be surprised if it sells for £80k plus but there are a lot of idiots out there! :)

Would it potentially increase the M100 value though??

Is that the same M200 that was for sale at Donington about 4 years ago. If so, I believe Sy drove it about a bit ;-)
