Can I find out a cars full claims history,not just writeoffs

Well can I? I've searched around the web but can't find anything, which surprises me as I would have thought that insurers would record the details of all claims on a certain car, not just the write-offs.

I'd be very interested to obtain advice on any way of checking my cars history, I have very little idea beyond 4-5 years ago, which means I'm in the dark about it's first 15years!

...anyone have any idea? Perhaps it's not allowed due to data protection laws.
