So I plan to keep my élan forever and I can't look at my shrunken dash around the vents pulling away anymore. So I bought a new dashboard. It's being shipped to me now. I have read what's on here, but any advise by someone who has done it. Thanks any advise is greatly appreciated.

Dash project competed and looks great, steering wheels as well. Pics to follow soon. I guess I can now advise in the pulling and replacement of a dash board and steering. During the process I kept reminding myself that this car was entirely put together by hand and must be rebuilt and repaired by hand as well. May as well be my hands. I payed way more attention to the details than if I would have paid someone to do the job, which I strongly considered. I even called around and not one shop gave me in unreasonable estimate, all under a grand. I just knew I would do the best job, because I could take my time and redo it as many times as it took. With LGM as an advisor anything is possible. I owe her BIG time she is a great resource! What's next?!? Drive the heck out of this little super car!!!

LGM is the best advisor we could get, when it comes to our cars. Have no idea how many times I heard about more and more items she customized into her car, including pulling in-out the dash many times

Hi Stonefish / GoM100Go, just wondered how long the dash removal refit took you. Also GoM100Go did you mange to source a replacement dash panel easily - did you manage to buy a new one or is it easy to obtain one from salvage. Are do know if the panels from the S2 / SE are interchangeable.

it only took about 45 mins to take out, if you know where all the mounting bolts / wing nuts are..and just a couple of multiplugs to connect things.
putting back took about the same, making sure to line up the holes so it fitted ok.
SE and S2 are the same, only the gearbox tunnel are different

stonefish - did you take out the dash or just the fascia panel? I just ask since the rest of the dash is still in place in your photos, although the fascia has been removed.

Hi Stonefish, thanks for the replying and providing approximate times - I suspect you must be a much quicker worker than me. Looks like you removed quite a bit of the interior to fix the heater. Again from the photos I assume you only removed the fascia panel rather than the complete dashboard assembly but it was the replacement of the fascia that I was keen to find out about
