Be sure the plugs are fresh and the right heat range, set them to .028. Just to be sure you do have a
2 bar map sensor on there not the stock 1 bar that came on the stylus...

Remember, he has an Izusu ECM. It would be good to figure out if it is a 49 state drivetrain or a Calif. Also, how did they interface the engine harness to work with the dash and instruments? Are things like the Speed Sensor, Coolant Temp Sender compatible? Could be a lot of bad info getting to the ECM. Plugs, Coils (and base) Wires and CAS are all suspect. How did the Izusu dealers check the EFI? Try to find a dealer who has the tools to make sure the ECM is happy in it's new home.

How would i find out if the ecm is 49 state or cali? There brand new ngk 1 stage colder plugs gaped to .8 mm before they were at 1.1 and the car did not like that. tomorrow im ordering the lower timing cover. Im putting in a order for parts on wed i will add oem ngk plugs for now to get them out of the problem. The wiring harness is from the impulse rs from what i know the guy who did this moved the hole harness motor and trains over. I have rpm, coolant temp, speed, volts. I have a ground problem on the motor and car a little when i use turn signals today i found my volt gauge jumping from 12 to what looks like 13.5 but it doesn't have numbers on it since its stock. But that's a easy fix this weekend since im setting the car up for 2 battery's. When the guy did this swap he moved the battery to the trunk. Is there any way to fix the factory alarm from going off when i open the door to get in the car. It sets off the headlights every time i open a door but if i unplug the box for it the car won't start.

so if it is markable worse under full load versus partial load - it does sugest
a) your finding the weak point in the ignition and it's breaking down under load - i.e. plugs - plug leads - coil packs
b) your getting an over boost signal which is inducing overboost shut down = ECU is getting the wrong signal, or your getting boost spiking that is a true over boost value - but your gauge is damped from seeing it, but the ECU does

a bit of a pain to resolve between the two because you need to induce the boost to cause the overload on the ignition

nothing new added here ref: other comments - other than it does seem like an engine load induced problem versus a random sensor problem - other than you have the wrong MAP signal as previously sugested

Hi All,

as i am reading the posts, did you check the Bosst presurre under full throttle ?
A 3 inch exhaust with a std turbo that did not get the bypass drilled out will give you boost creep as you can read on the forum , maybe something to look into ???

I did think about boost creep but the thing about that is under full load it maxxed at 8 psi on after market guage with brand new line to the intake. even when i got it to run on half throttle it never win't past 8. This car ran right before the front end wreck my friend ran a red light and now im trying to ge her back to normal. Im going to get another new set of plugs this time stock ngk iriudiums since there great for stock psi and can handle plus some once i get this fixed and i can get them for 25 bucks. Has any one had problems with the dephi map sensor?

Got new delphi map sensor from rockauto for the impulse rs and it dosent fit the factoey map plug so i cut the plastic off got it to plug in but car will not start with it plug back in stock map that came with the car and car starts fine. Good news got ngk iridium plugs and now no boosg problems but in first gear at 5k to 7k some times not every time. Im not sure what the stock redline is so im not sure if im pushing it to hard. Second and 3rd no boost problem.
