i need to replace my thermostat and the local motor factors all say they have`nt a listed part number for the m100.
does anyone have a alternative part number for one .

I bought one from JCT600 Lotus agent and the part number on the invoice was:-
LA100E6176S Thermostat.
LA100E6355S Gasket.
LA100E6176S Thermostat.
LA100E6355S Gasket.

Same thermostat as the Isuzu Impulse Turbo. 185 degree is standard.

have found 3 that would seem ok, halfords HTK600, quinton hazel QTH102, and VERNET 209770300 which opens at 82deg as opposed to the other two which open at 88deg.
has anyone tried a vernet one?.

The correct temp is 88deg. The fuel injection system needs a minimum temp to know it doesn't need to add mixture as a choke. 82 is too cold and you will stay rich longer than necessary.

When I replaced my thermostat last month the references I found for the O.E. thermostat, including the LEC Repair Section, was 180F/82C

Sorry, I keep thinking 88deg is 180. I never was able to remember. You are right, 180 is the correct temp - most unlike US cars that require 195 thermostats for fuel injection systems. Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse an yone.

they do fit and work, BUT they dont have the bleed at the top also mine only lasted 2000 miles is, fitted a lotus one and I've doe 5kish and its still ok? Maybe just bad luck. I did find the lotus gasket absolutly useless and couldne get it to seal.

Me too. A smearing of silicone sealant did the trick for me.
