CAT SE exhaust pipe same as S2?

Postby ADifferentSteve » Thu 06.09.2012, 00:28

I have a 1991 US SE with turbo and CAT, and am in need of everything back of the bottom (main) cat. It is a California car, and I don't want to risk the emissions tuning by going to a larger pipe. I also don't want to have to do it again, so I'm looking for stainless.

The original pipe I need, A100S0060F, the one with the vibration damper in the middle, is no longer available and SJ doesn't have a direct stainless replacement. SJ does have a stainless exhaust pipe that goes from the CAT to the silencer in the S2, SJ100S0010, which may or may not fit.

Shipping to the US is probably as expensive as labor to custom-make the pipe would be, but I don't know of a nearby place with the capability in stainless or I would just do that. And it would be a shame to ship it and have it not fit! Does anyone know if the S2 part is mechanically the same dimensions? (I can deal with the vibration damper, which the SJ stainless part doesn't have).

Thanks!

Steve

Looks like tigerdog, a CA native, is running a big bore stainless without emissions problems
