Tried everywhere to get the front plastic trim that is used to open and shut the roof that it seems is prone to cracking up on the Elan and is a common problem the only place I could get one was fro Douglas Valley with VAT £90 inc postage £104 got it next day. I have no idea what they were new when Lotus made them but I was happy enough with the price. It seems to me DVB are well aware of parts becoming scarce for the Elan and are most probably bidding quite high on damaged ones as they are worth more in parts than to sell as a road car at the moment!

You probably had to pay a tad too much for it ,but it looks in good condition ,and as you say they are not daft at DVB they are well aware of the scarcity of Elan parts and the car is worth much much more to them in pieces than as a whole. Even so they are still Robing B*st*rds but they call the shots I suppose.
That's my little rant over

at least they help to keep our cars on the road. Having my front suspension arms remanufactured was hugely expensive.
It would have been much cheaper to get them from DVB, but on those parts I wasn't prepared to risk second hand parts.
