Fault Code 33 Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (High voltage / Low vacuum)

I have now experience the above Fault Code twice in the past month. Symptons are that car cuts out straight away after starting and when you start
car it sounds like only 3 cylinders are firing and it struggles to pick up. Both times the car has been left idle for between 7-10 days before use. Today I decided to take it for a run with the engine management indicating fault. Car appeared to run ok apart from spluttering along when pulling away and sounding like a motorbike. Apologies for the non technical explanation.

Once the car had been left for approx 1/2 hour and started again everything is back to normal, no engine management light and obviously no error code and car performs absolutely perfectly.

This problem has only occurred since having the Piper exhaust fitted. Are there any suggestions from you experts out there and advise as necessary to resolve the problem or even our resident Piper expert can make a comment.

Interestingly there has been no comments to my problem. Is it a problem though if it resolves itself? What I don't want though for it to be
an underlying fault that may get worse in the future. Has anyone got any thoughts at all

Looking through previous threads which have been posted with the same fault nothing has ever come out of it.

Have you tried the fault finding in the engine management manual? That should help you work out what's causing the problem, but if it's intermittent then it's probably a poor connection.

Will investigate this when we get back from our month in the USA, she's tucked away in the garage now with her winter coat on.

Sorry to revive an old thread but did you ever resolve this Trevor?
My car has cut out on starting a couple of times recently, after a bit of cranking it restarts with no major misfire or engine light. As it was during icy spells I put it down to the engine being cold and damp. However my exhaust has been making a similar sound today and I guess I can't rule out a connection. (See my other post!)
