Just finished cleaning with help

Thought i had better give him a good clean before his bed time for the Winter i ended up getting Steve to give it a machine polish and wax with my help polishing it off, really pleased, i think its has shiney as its been all year.

Does look mega smart though, especially the engine, I've never been able to get the hang of getting an engine sparkly.

i thought my engine was clean but your's puts mine to shame, has the plenum been powder coated and the brackets yellow passivated, top class detailing though

looks stunning in black, i wish id'e waited for a black one to come along instead of buying a red one,

I must admit, it does look good in glossed up black. Engine bay looks excellent as well. Just don't forget to drive it occasionally. Don't become a garage queen like Dico, LEC's King of SORN

Wow. Thats incredible. I have a go and detail cars for a paying hobby, am getting more and more engine bay work, but its all plain black audi/vw/jeep type stuff, just gets a clean and a gloss. This is exactly the kind of thing I just don't get to see enough of. There are a few car events up at Knockhill but we have nothing like the level of events you guys down south have to go and see things. I studied in York for a few years and lived there for a few more, used to do all the events at the Arts Centre and De Grey Rooms when they existed, still have loads of mates there. Unfortunately the arrival of wee Adam 8 months ago means I'll not be taking any trips there in the Lotus (if I ever get it on the road, haha, at least 100 hours work left being conservative).

I've got red Samco hoses, a racing set of spark leads coming from SJs, and although these bolts look really expensive, I'm dying to do something like this. I take it you just have to cross-reference the parts manual against the bolts on that site? I thought I'd read there were kits available but can't find the thread. I have a catalogue in front of me from autosiliconhoses.com which I am going to use to fill in the blanks, you seem to be able to build your own induction kit and there are lots of carbon, silicone and neoprene options. Can't wait to get into the engine, exhaust and turbo are coming out this week and then I can start on the cooling system and detailing.

I've been reading old books about detailing engines and all the pictures are black and white. These are some of the first pictures I've seen showing properly detailed engine bays with a bit of customisation and flare. Its amazing these days how easily we can show hi-res pics of work and methods - I'd have never been able to even know what was possible even a few years ago!

I had my son take the cam cover off for me yesterday, its at the powder coaters now, i ended up going for a matalic/pearl Black, i was tempted to have it polished but thought the all black look would look
