Photoshop help with wheels

A bit cheeky, but just hoping that someone might be able to Photoshop the Compomotive wheel(s) onto the Élan picture in Black, I did try a online version and failed miserably
The Compomotive is a 16" wheel, 15"s on mine.....

No problem; they just look a tiny bit out of place as they are in different lighting but hopefully thats good enough for you!

Now I wonder why yours with 15" wheels and standard profile tyres, has much less eyebrow (at the back) than mine with 17" wheels and low profile tyres…..

A BIG thanks for that I was tempted with them in Black Then Compomotive have just got back and said they dont do them in Gloss Black http://www.comp.co.uk/wheels/wheels.asp ... eels-16-13 MO1673 which go up to a ET 53 offset on a 7" rim

Any one on here who can advise on a good offset on the 7" rim http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?wi ... mit=Submit
I was thinking a 7" rim with a ET53 comes close

i bought these exact wheels and got them done in black a few years back, dont think black or white would look right on a black car. i can tell you they feel great, especially after being on the rims i mentioned in your other post. if it helps this is them...

They look really good, what rim size and ET and tyres did you go for Do you find it drives/handles OK, More pictures PLEASE
Maybe on my own.....but i really like the look of the Black Mini's with there gloss black rims.

What size tyres are fitted Matt? 205 or 215's

i went for the standard S2 tyre as theyre capable of fitting over 7 inch rims, so i think they are 205.

I meant the gap between wheel and arch = eyebrow! Mine seem huge. Will measure when the weather clears, she is under 2 covers until it settles down up here and I am going to get on with some other stuff.

If you or anybody else want wheels Photoshopping onto your car, just do what Sandra did above, takes 2 minutes for me to do, so no problems....

How do they fit/look in relation to the arches? i did them (with help) on the offset calculator, i think it shows them about 13mm further out im just trying to gauge how they sit in the arches i hate the tucked in look of the standard wheels.........

I love the grey with black. I was thinking of suggesting grey wheels with your black sandra, or a kind of bakelite beige-brown, might sound a bit horrible but I think it would look awesome.

Somthing like this colour? i was thinking a bronze as a option....... or Gloss Black

i went for black because theyre relatively small wheels by modern standards and to me the design is a little boring so i was trying to hide them. the black on black does look good on the ferrari, and the bronze looks ok on the corvette, but im still not completley convinced theyd work on ours. Ive been looking at evoras and in my humble opinion black wheels look good on red, orange, blue and are ok on grey, yellow and green cars.

If you have Photoshop but just don't know how to use it, here's how I did your wheels:

- open pic of car
- open pic of wheel
- select all, copy wheel & paste onto car pic
- it now sits in a new layer. right click on the layer, duplicate it and hide the original in case you need it for wheel two
- use magic wand set to tolerance 32 to select outer portion of wheel pic, delete it

most options below are in edit…transform

(mix/alternate next steps until close to happy)

- move wheel into approximate position, use scale to size wheel, hold shift to keep proportions, size it as close as you can get, only minimal changes to size should be made distorting proportion
- use rotate 90 to rotate the wheel in 90 degree increments to roughly where you want it
- use rotate to get it to exactly where you want it
- using eraser tool with a small brush, zoom in on wheel and clear off any protuberances that are now obvious. you can use flip horizontal or vertical to bring it into the right apparent plane
- then use perspective to bring it into the same proportions as the existing hub while holding form
- use warp to correct any abnormalities left in the angles

once you are happy with wheel one, either duplicate it for wheel two if they are roughly in same plane, or start again with your hidden layer to make wheel 2

once you've got both wheels in position you can shift-click both layers to edit them simultaneously dependent what you want to do with lighting, colour, or even merge them. don't merge them down to the car layer (i did this when I saved it for the forum, otherwise i'd run out a whole load of variations for you)

then the rest of these which i didn't use are in image…adjust, again, you will probably want to revisit these and 'tune in' to what you want

- use brightness & contrast to reduce the lighting from the studio lights on the wheels to match the outdoor lights on the car
- use variations to see slight adjustments to shadows, midtones, highlights to adjust for camera differences, or tune colours or remove colouring from shadows/glare, etc
- use hue/saturation to run through the whole spectrum, sliding the hue dial will show you all the different colours available
