Starting up

Postby texaselite » Fri 01.02.2013, 17:38

Recently replaced CAS after Error Code 41 (along with a bunch of other things...Piper exhaust, downpipe, timing belt, wastegate porting, etc.).

The car starts up perfectly fine when cold -- say after sitting for 24 hours. When I go for a spin (say a movie) and come out 2-3 hours later, the car hesitates drastically to start -- I pretty much have to pump the gas to get it to go. Ignition wires were changed not too long ago along with the coil packs. Any ideas?

Do you have access to Elanscan? A log file taken when the car refuses to start would be a huge help with this.

A lot of the elans seem to have this problem.
Several treads can be find on LEC.

Besides the obvious (plugs, cables, coil packs, injectors, bleeding coolant, timing, fresh temperature senders (air and water) etc etc) nothing seems to have solved this problem so far!

My car starts instant when cold, instant when hot, but the same problems as you describe. However, it ALWAYS starts so i learned to live with it and installed an 80 AH battery. It never gave me any problems, but if you find a cure.... you will be honoured around here!
