Hi All
I am well aware of the scarcity of this item and have checked through some previous threads regarding availability - of which there appears to be - none .

Has anyone reached this point before as it looks like an mot failure at the moment, and surely there has to be some way around this.

Realise it is maybe the same as 1990 Carlton but no help as can't find one of those either.

Maybe an electrical genius could repair? Anybody know who or how this could be done?

A million thanks in advance for any help whatsoever in facillitating this .

There is always douglas vally breakers. Just make sure you are sat down when they tell you how much they want for their parts!

Sometimes it is just a bad contact between switch and socket, so check this first.

Switch information is on the Wiki. I'd like to look at a broken switches (same goes for anyone with a broken switch) to see if I can identify the failure mechanism but I can't guarantee success and/or when I'd get around to it. If you're interested, let me know and I'll PM you my address.

I tried to repair mine when the Elan failed its M O T because there was no illumination at the switch ,it was functioning OK but no light ,I managed to take it to pieces but unfortunately there isn't a bulb in it, its like a small diode or possibly a small L E D that's soldered into the wiring and it was too tricky for me to repair .So I searched the Internet until I found a guy braking a Carlton and he sold me the switch for £7.50 bless him I have since sent my switch to some one on this forum F O C because there was a possibility he could make a good switch out of two defective ones
I hope you find one ,be careful how you get the old one out and put the new one in ,I had to glue the rear support behind the switch in mine with some Araldite

It looks as though I have managed to source one from one of the members on LEC.

I may well send my switch to you Geoff. Would always be good to have a spare for the future. Will be in touch.

I hope this sorts out my problem of no indicators. The only thing now in order to get the Elan through the MOT. Fingers crossed.

Think you might be onto a Gold mine - DVB have one on fleabay for £95 and it's not even an Elan OE one
