I think that SAMCO do the hoses in orange. They're very quick once you place your order and you will probably still get the LEC discount

I think they only hold the black ones in stock. Any other colour will have to be made specifically, albeit I think they just coat the black ones in whatever colour is required ;-)

Nearly. Their hoses are made from blue silicone. Any other colour is simply a coating.

I am very happy with the price. Before I saw them I was a bit concerned as to what they would turn out like. Some of the work I have had done on boat seats from other companies here has been a bit iffy.... I will definatly use this company again for any other parts I need making.

He made templates of all of the parts. seats, door cards, pockets and handbrake / gear shift gators. Unfortunatly I forgot to ask how much he would charge for just the covers excluding fitting. I'll be going back next week for the new door card covers. ( I need to repair the spare door cards as they are cracked).

Hello, Wayne,

Were you able to obtain pricing on these leather covers excluding fitting? Your seat covers look great - I especially like the Lotus logo!

I'd also be interested in the other leather parts. Would your trimmer be willing to work with United States buyers?

Thanks!

Hi Don.

Although this thread is a year old.
I was actually in his shop last week as another member has just asked me about them. Neither of us could remember the actual price he quoted me. I believe it was BD 220 (Bahraini Dinars) about (£350) for parts without fitting. I found my receipt and I was charged BD 260 with fitting. (£415). Price included all leather parts.

He didn't personally do the logo but sent my design out to another company and threw it in for free :) I think they did a good colour match for the car.

I need to go back in next week to pick up some other parts and I want to get photos of all of his colour sample books.

He still has the templates but the bad news is he only made templates for the seats and door cards. I Have a spare set of seats that he can use for a trial fit and may have a spare handbrake gaiter and gear shifter gaiter here. But I do not think I have any door pockets.

I'd be happy to ask him about another set and send them to the US. (above prices do not include postage).

Personally I think that the logo came out too big. I think it would have looked better if it was a tad smaller. But that's just my taste.

Drop me an email with colour details if you would like me to look into a set

Seat retrimming options/views

Postby Gee21 » Wed 25.03.2015, 16:50

My car is booked into the trimmers. I have around 7 weeks to make my mind up on what I want. The guy I'm using is very good and has a waiting list.

My car has the grey/red leather. I am getting the seats, door leather panels, handbrake gator, gear shift gator and a few other bits and bobs. I'm keeping it as factory as possible with regards to the design. I'm just unsure on wether to get the LOTUS emblem as is but in red or get the full Lotus badge embroidered on the seats?? I'm also thinking about getting red stitching instead of the factory piping.

Just looking to get some ideas of all you experts in what is best?

What do you think? :D

I'd have a look at as many interiors as you can from this site and from a search on google images for "sports car interiors". I was looking at completely recovering mine but in the end decided to keep what I had but get it completely renovated by Leathercare Renovations who did a really good job at fixing some water damage and renewing the padding. They are approved by the Rolls Royce owners club and their work is probably the best I've ever seen.

http://www.leathercaredirect.com/index.php

I know a lot of people have the lotus logo embroidered onto the leather but it stands out a bit too much for me when its in contrasting colours. If I had it done I'd have it embroidered in the same colour as the leather itself to give it the sort of embossed look that the seats had originally. Normally they send the leather off for embossing so you could probably have this done on a spare piece of leather to see what it looks like before the car actually goes in to have the work done. Probably worth experimenting knowing how much the re-trim will cost.

Kept my interior simple as its all a matter of taste. I know I'll sell the car eventually so I don't want someone to say "interesting" and walk away.

Few pics of mine to start the ball rolling.

Don't forget to post pics afterwards.......or before if you want opinions on something you've seen. All the best

For what it's worth, I'm getting mine re-trimmed in a couple of weeks. I'm getting mine done almost exactly the way yours is. The seats will be dark charcoal and red, in the same pattern as your seats, but I'm not getting the piping. I'm getting double stitching instead, like is done in most new cars. I also got some red carpet and replaced the carpet in the doors with it. I took the leftover carpet and cut floor mats. (I have mats like yours, and used them as templates) The re-trimmer is going to bind the mats using the same dark charcoal leather they're using on the seats, and I've put Lotus logo patches right in the center of the mats.

Pictures look great. Can I ask what steering wheel and gear knob that is?

I'll post some pictures off sorry seats when I get home.

+1 that is a nice looking steering wheel, really suits the car. Was it easy to come by?

Gee, who is doing the trimming. I used Kelvin trimmers in Anniesland but I fear they may have shut down as it was a couple of old blokes.

Just one thought regards seat trimming, mine were retrimmed like those in the pictures and I am well pleased, however, it is worth pointing out that the piping on the seats takes a lot of punishment on getting in and out of the car and the dye in the piping is prone to wear; it can be touched up but were I redoing the seats I think I would either use a very neutral colour on the piping or forego it altogether.

I'm using a guy based near me in Rutherglen. Optimus Trimmers. His work is very good and price is excellent. I'm booked in for 1st June and will get the car back three days later.

I think I'm going with the factory style red stripe but swapping the piping for red stitching........I think :-)
