Whenever I hear that wooosh I think of ... balding, middle aged guys driving Subaru Impreza's.

Time for a bit more plumbing. First a picture showing where the pipe from the blow-off valve goes - what is the orange thing on the left? Second a picture down near the outlet from the turbo.

The orange thing is the pressure sensor that drives the turbo gauge on the dash.

Not sure on the other bit - can see the wastegate actuator plumbed to the manual bleed valve that was mentioned earlier, but apart from that....

Nice Scooby , bet you enjoyed the Top Gear special ,, I think it showed how capable they are , just a shame there tainted by the chavs that drive them..

I thought that I would replace the sliders on the front calipers to see if that eliminates the brake judder. So, while the brakes were off, I took the opportunity to do some rust treatment to the suspension components. My first experience with POR15 is not bad, although all the prep is somewhat tiresome. The chemicals in the POR15 system are really nasty, so I've bought lots of protective gear.

This weekend, I'll replace the old flexible brake pipes with braided ones, spray the whole suspension with Dinitrol, drill out the (stainless steel!) bolt which attaches the disc to the hub, and re-fit the brakes. Then I can repeat it all at the back. My wife can't believe it.

It's a bog standard ECU. In some car the label just falls off - it's connected with (ahem) a period of high humidity (and wet carpets).

I got rid of my boy-racer whoosh by installing a bypass valve that dumps back into the air cleaner (K&N in my case.) Others have done the same thing, venting into the stock "dust bin" housing.
