IP address banned

Postby tedtaylor » Wed 03.04.2013, 00:21

My account was blocked with error message "IP address permanently banned". I have since downloaded a proxy server to make my IP address anonymous. I'm not real techy, only the basics. My concern is I sent repeated email and contact messages to the forum or LEC webmaster without any replies or explanations. I'm very disappointed with this lack of response. So my question is do I just continue to use a proxy server to access LEC forums, or can we all come clean here and let me just use my internet service provider servers as before??
I respect and carefully use this forum being an avid Lotus owner and wouldn't knowingly do anything to risk harm to the site. Can anyone offer sympathy or explanation or share their same frustration with this issue?
thanks

Sorry you don't seem to be getting much love Ted :( I'm betting your predicament will be addressed in due course. Often I've seen the fix come with the reminder that the site is run by volunteers who strive to be responsive but could often be away due to "real world" responsibilities. This thread identifies some of the possibilities Spamhaus Blacklist Similar to as discussed in the Spamhaus thread, periodically posters to some other car sites I've frequented have been caught up in a range of IP addresses that were blocked, and the webmaster would need to create an exception for their IP.

Hi Bibs. The posts on Lotus talk are from the same person.

Anyone with LEC technical issues needs to contact Geoff as his son Christopher is maintaining the digital side of LEC.

For others in the US, remember Easter is a big holiday time in the UK and not everyone is glued to their computer.
Please contact me via eMail, not by PM

Sorted (I hope). Ted's IP address was in the middle of a range that a persistent spammer was using. Hopefully, he's moved on and is peddling his wares elsewhere.
