Not identical, but interchangeable. The S2 rack is supposed to be better (different valving I think).
But why does it need replaced? If it's just a bit of play, the SE rack has some adjustment (or at least mine was adjusted by the mechanic).

Power steering has failed.. Pump works fine and hoses are all ok... Been told the seals will have been corroded, as the car was left in a sad place for five years ,outside with no cover on in good old wales.. I can refurb the old one for a couple of hundred but have seen one on ebay going for a bit cheaper, stated as new. Not sure with it though. Have a friend who is willing to take it apart.

Hi,
The steering rack of my SE has a bit of play. I've never seen I could ajust it. Could you tell me how to procced, or where to find informations? I don't think I heard about it in the manual.
Many thanks

If you can't fix it with a hammer it's electrical.

All sorted, ended up sending my original back for a refurb. Taking out the rack was very straight forward, but replacing was very difficult, as trying to connect back to the steering column was very challenging, but got there in the end..
