S2 wheels

Hi,
After many years I maybe about to buy my first M100. I recall last year there was a company on ebay that sold exchange alloys. Are they still around as I cant find them?

I'm afraid not!
Only custom made in the correct ET is available.
So better buy the Elan with the wheels you desire, saves you money and troubles.

Indeed they seemed to have disapeared from ebay the last time I checked.
If I remember well their name was PXWheels. (http://www.pxwheels.com/wheels/list.php?brand=Lotus ?)
S2 wheels are rather hard to source indeed, so as HJ2 said you would rather buy an Élan with the wheels you like!

As far as I remember, they only did refurbished S2 wheels on an exchange, like-for like basis, and only then when they had a set in stock for that purpose....

If you get a S2, there are plenty of companies that will refurbish wheels (full strip, repair, powder coat) for around £50 each.

The problem now is upgrading SE wheels due to scarcity of S2 items...

Ok, so if I was looking at aftermarket wheels the same size as S2 I'd be looking for 7j x 16 ET60? Ive seen a lot of elans with aftermarket wheels (some horrible) but having spoken with a supplier today he said I will struggle.
How have other people fitted them?

A lot of wheels available, however none with the ET of 60!
I would not go further than 55 if i were you to keep torque steer within limits.

However, that's my 2 cents of course and everybody should do as he prefers.
In the end it is all about the smiles per miles and that is up to you.

so instead of 60....48 and 52 have been sourced....

IIRC Nige got some 17" mini wheels to fit at 56.6 offset

also be aware that if you have a big brake kit on the front you will need to check that your wheel will fit over it....especially if its the wilwood version as there was very little room to start with

Sure, you can find also ET 20! but everything below 55 well... What i wrote
