White M100 in Newcastle - H 15 ALS

Does anybody have any info about a white M100 for sale at Lotus Newcastle? The reg number is H15 ALS, the mileage is 44,000 and it has had only one owner. However the garage has been trying to sell it for over a year now - at first for £10000 and now for £8000. Does this sound reasonable? Can't comment on the vfm for this car - it may, after all, be the best example in the UK; however, certainly adequate examples are around that cost considerably less, which might explain why it hasn't sold yet!

I have been to see it.

Its actually in Gateshead

It is a nice example but I wouldnt want to pay £8000 for it.

It has cloth seats.

There is some overspray, but I dont know if this is origonal or from new paint.

I can go and have another look at it for you if there is anything specific yopu like checked.

Im offshore till 13th March so it would have to be after then.

As you say abmunro the car is priced at the top end, but is has excellent history, low miles and only one (consultant surgeon) owner from new. Silverlink are also looking after me with a discount on the asking price, putting the car through their workshop and a service before collection. They have also arranged some cosmetic work, so all in all I'm very pleased.
I am bringing the car back to the Wirral, so will be hoping to meet other members in the North West.

Does Silverlink have its own workshop now? Or are they still using the MX5 place in Rowlands Gill?

Hi Aoki MP,

I am not from the North East, so I am not sure who or where "Rowlands Gill" is, but the Lotus Newcastle workshop is just across the road (well roundabout) from their showroom.

To my great shame I am still to post on the new member bit of this forum, (I need help with the digital camera to get some photos uploaded) but I have had the car for 3 weeks now and it has been fantastic.

Firstly, on the day the car was collected (the run back from Newcastle to Wirral) took just over 3 hours and the car never missed a beat!

Since then it has been mainly short blasts with the hood down, superb fun.

All the paper work kept by the last owner (who had the car from new!) shows a "no expense spared" history, even things like the re-gassing of the air con (strange it has the air con option, but half leather seats!) has been done at Lotus. Everything works, interior lights, clock, air con, heated mirrors, central locking, it all works! This is the first classic I have ever had were everything works (previously had Lancias, an alfa, an MG and Porsche).

So Aoki, whoever has done the pre-deilvery workshop prep, not only was the car shining like a new pin, but any issues that might have existed have been rectified.

I am hoping to get to the NW Lotus meeting on the first Sunday in July (at the Swettenham Arms) so hope to see some people from the forum then - hopefully I will have managed to introduce myself properly before then too!!.
