Hi all,
Ive finally done it and got myself an Elan, something Ive been meaning to do for years and Im very pleased with it. Its a great little acr and I got a brilliant deal with all the history and a private plate (E14N)
I have a few questions. I need new weather strips fro the tops of the doors and new hood rubbers. Wheres the best place to buy them and howa re they fitted?
Also I find the throw in the gearstick very long, is there a shorter suitable gear stick nob or quickshift, again where from?
Lastly I need a new front lip spoiler.
BTW I live in Alton 5 mins from the Hen and Chick so I'll you there on the first Wednesday of the month!!
Cheers guys

Weather strips for tops of doors are a pig to fit and no longer available. I'm using part number SKU 685 I think it is from vintagecarparts.co.uk and making the modifications as described in the wiki.
I'm just going to grind the top off the existing gearstick in place I think. As regards shorter throw kits these are only available second hand for now but we may have a line on them very soon again.
Front lip spoiler is available from SJ Sportscars or Walker Rubber. The former is a good source for your hood rubbers as are Allon White, Paul Matty, and South West Lotus.
GJ on the purchase! Photos please!

Thanks guys and any other solutions on the gear stick would be great. It currently looks obvious that the leather gear knob is very tall, so Im wondering if its a case it can just be removed and a more normal size fitted......

No its mine!

Im in Alton Hampshire mate. Seriously though if anyone does know the car it'd be cool to hear. It has bucket full of service history and all the original docs.
Cheers
