Hi-Spec caliper bracket bolt size?

Postby Aoki Magic Pants » Fri 12.07.2013, 14:52

I had catastrophic front lower ball joint failure which sheared both Hi -Spec Caliper bolts when it snapped. Does anybody know what size bolts I need to replace them to attach the caliper to the bracket?

My local garage reckons they're M12 x 1.5 x 40 whereas the guy at Hi-Spec thinks that they're M10 x 1.5 x 60. Does anybody know in Bobs absence?

Luckily the road was quiet so I managed not to crash into anything and it would seem that the only damage is a sheared lower ball joint & some superficial damage to the caliper and alloy. :(

Sorry I can not confirm the size of the bolts. I would like to mention theat the ones that Hi Spec sent me many years age were too short...

Also If you are ordering bolts locally... I believe that they are hardened bolts not regular mild steel bolts....... H12 springs to mind but I am not sure if this is correct.
Please can someone confirm this?

Thanks Wayne. It turned out that they were M12 x 1.5 x 40 after all. Hi Spec were very helpful & pleasant to deal with and I received replacements from Hi Spec the next day. :D
