Fuel Gauge always full

I thought my MPG had just improved dramatically but unfortunately my fuel gauge needle is stuck at full!
Anyone seen this before?

It's the best of advice, and if it works it'll save the following hassle:

Remove all hood storage trim, carpets, plastic etc etc
Disconnect wiring from top of tank
Disconnect fuel pipes from tank (safety in every action this is fuel you are dealing with!)
Unscrew tank lid
Remove sender unit
Determine fault and repair

I think i'd remove the grey circular screw lid thing from the sender unit and cut a plastic insert from an old ice cream tub or something and then screw it back over the tank to reduce the risk of fire if you're going to take a while to determine the fault & fix, but it's up to you how you do this.
