Help - need front clip

Postby mailman221 » Wed 07.08.2013, 06:33

My Federal Elan of many years has suffered an accident - couple pulled out on the highway after tipping a few. Was unable to miss them completely as there was oncoming traffic. It is now in the hands of a capable body shop, but parts are becoming problematic. Dave Bean has not been helpful in locating any body parts, and they would like to find a front clip from another Elan, that has had rear end damage or side damage behind the windshield.

Does anyone know of an Elan somewhere in the states that we could pull a front clam, hood, right fender, etc. from? Any ideas, replies will be appreciated.

VERY sorry to see the damage to your Elan. This site www.lotusm100parts.com/bparts.php has been up for a few years. It shows parts available, but I don't know if the site is updated/maintained. Someone here will know.

Peter and Ed:

The site is updated regularly and the parts shown are basically what Dave has left. He is quick to respond to questions, so if he doesn't list it, you can always ask if he has what you need. I know he doesn't have a clamshell though, sorry.

I still ask him for some of the parts missing from project #2.
