OK. onward postage of these parts may get a bit complicated.

BCN has offered to accept 1 package and distribute to the US people.

If I send the remainder of the parts to the UK in 1 package then the import duty / handeling charge will double the cost of them.

My wife is going to the UK next month and has offered to fit as many sets as possible into her suitcase and send them to my sister to send out.

This may help save some money on distribution costs.

My dilema is I need to put a price on delivery that is acceptable to everyone.

Anyone that is happy with the above costs please email me and I will get the parts off to you asap.

I would prefer to receive payment via bank transfer but would accept PayPal. etc. I will try to email / pm people on the list later in the week to see if they still have an interest.

Regards

Nothing to do with me but ...

Doing more selling, than buying, via PayPal, I tend to notice how the charges mount up for the seller ... and more so when there is a change of currency involved.

I understand there’s a gift option available on PayPal where the buyer pays the charges and the seller receives the full intended amount. It may be something worth considering particularly as the overall cost has been kept down to the minimum.

Another good idea is not to use PayPal at all :D

The Gift / personal option only costs the sender around 30p and the receiver gets the full amount. It the sender is using a credit card, then the charges are higher - but that is because the credit card company is gouging.

In the US, you can't wire or transfer funds between bank accounts at a reasonable rate, so PayPal is a realistic solution, but only if it is a personal type payment.

Also, in the US, PayPal doesn't charge to transfer funds back to your linked bank account.

Brit-Car-Nut wrote:The caps are currently in Bahrain, so not getting there immediately. Let us know if you need another set - either early or late.

They look O.K., though the ones my other SE are not that good.
And as they will crack eventually, there's no time like the present to get a set anyway.

So for me, please add a early version to the list :

I would be happy to collect multiple orders and organise forwarding for Belgium - Holland - North of France - ...?
Or have my sets sent to 150Km radius around Belgium, and see if I can get them at any Lotus event in Belgium.

If not relevant, PM me the total costs for delivery at my place in Belgium.
I'll use PayPal gift option ;-)

So far, you are alone in Belgium. There are 2 in France and 1 in Austria.

Wayne will let you know the shipping costs as soon as he figures out the best way to ship them.

Ray good point. Living in Bahrain my PayPal account is severely restricted and everything has to be done via my credit card so I get charged for both receiving a payment and then charged again for reclaiming it. :( So please use PayPal only if really required.

After sending out a couple of sets to Austria / Canada today it seems that if I can keep the weight under 500g then the postage is only BD3 (£5).

Happy to ship France and Belgium parts in 1 shipment. (Austria part already sent).

US bulk shipment already sent.

As UK parts will only be £5 I am unsure of any savings by having them hand delivered to the UK and re distributed. I will however still try.

If it's the same rate for Belgium, there is no saving in bulk shipping for France and Belgium...
So I guess it's better to sent them directly to each buyer.

In Belgium, Paypal takes 3% off when reclaiming money into bank account.
So if you have extra costs, just include them.
Don't want you to loose money helping me (and others) out this way !
(No urgency from my side, take your time and prioritize those with broken parts)

Wayne, does this mean a total of £30 with postage to the UK? I don't want you to be out of pocket with this and don't mind paying more if needed to cover your outlay.

Denny that is correct£30/set (caps £25 + £5 delivery). Delivered via regular mail from Bahrain (Looking at previous packages it takes about 2 weeks ish!). Providing the shipment is less than 500g regular mail to the UK costs BD3. It works out to £5.07p. So I figure £5 is close enough. If people can hand deliver I can get several sets in to 1 package for the same price. If I send too many together I am worried about them being charged duty.

I have already posted out a few sets and have a few more to post tomorrow evening. I will update the list after I have sent the parts out tomorrow.

My wife will be coming to the UK next month and has offered to bring as many sets as possible to Yeovil. She will have to post them over to my sister in Yorkshire unless anyone wants to collect them and pass /post them out.

I live fairly close to Yeovil and happy to help out if I can. Picking up would be very easy, but not sure what I'd do with them thereafter. Obviously I could post out from here - but I don't fancy funding more than a handful and then it would get complicated to do anything else ... or I'll be going to the Classic show at the NEC in November ... or I could hang on to them 'til the Lotus thing at Donington next year ... or whatever ... (suggestions please!)

Anyway if you want me to pick up...just let me know when to be where.

Wayne

Not sure how your paypal account is working for you now but I was looking at alternative ways to send you the money for the caps.
Western Union allows transfer directly to your bank account from a UK credit/debit card for about a £5 fee and you get full amount.
Would that help?

What do you think?

Tim. Thanks for your efforts / support. Western Union is the way I have been paying for all of the projects so far. I have found it cheaper than bank transfers. I didn't realise it would work in the uK ? although at £5 it is probably more than paypal charges.

How much does a UK bank now charge for this??

I have no idea of my paypal charges. I was estimating at £2 Per transaction? I have never really calculated it. Sorry.

If payments are really going to be so high then please just add £2 and use paypal.

Sorry. I didn't expect this to be so complicated.

I have posted out about 20 sets so far. (10 to the us via John. Other 10 to the people that have currently paid or have sent their address and arranged payment). from 1 off locations. I will try to post an updated list soon

Bulk shipping 2 sets is fine by me. £5 for 2 sets and it would give you both a good excuse to meet up
