Window weather strip availability?

Postby Faeview » Fri 12.07.2013, 07:53

Can anyone suggest were a right hand external side window strip (new or in good condition) can be sourced?

Thank you. I am sure they will receive many orders from places like sunny Australia!

Hi everyone,

Many of us make their own parts refering to the link http://wikilec.9600.org/index.php/Door_ ... therstrips

Can anyone tell me if there is any LEC rebate in place with PNM or if any earlier contact was made to that end ?
Would there be enough people interested in a Group Buy ?

As WienLot said, make your own. I did but not because the sun down here was killing them, but the wet weather in England had rusted the metal insert in the factory seal. The replacement seal profile has a plastic core, eliminating the rust problem.

Just received my pnm engineering weather strips. They look great and looking forward to the fun of a bit of reverse engineering putting them on and the window back in. :D

Good to know!

PNM has offered LEC a one time discount for the weather strips if we can order more than 25 sets. This only came about after so many were asking for replacements.

Go to the bottom of this page: http://www.pnmengineering.com/lotus-bodywork-chassis.html

Wienlot made the introduction for LEC and PNM has been very generous in making their offer.

Everyone needs to take a look at their strips and decide if they need/want a new set.

Set or pair is enough to do the entire car.

The regular price is £69.00 per set + VAT but the special price will be £55.00 + VAT (£11.00).

They will send a bulk shipment to a UK central address at no charge for redistribution and on-shipping to those in the UK would be £10.00 and to the rest of the EU (international rates) should be £22.00.

To the US, they will ship a bulk shipment to a central address at their cost (which we will split among all buyers) and on-shipping will be $12.00 to anywhere in the Continental USA.
Alaska and Hawaii will be more (but you always know that, right)...

Canada is expensive to ship to from the US as it will be a LONG package, so maybe a single bulk shipment there will be a better choice.

It will truly depend on participation! If we don't get above 25 takers, then the unit price will be more. If we go above 35 sets, the price COULD go down even a bit more.

Give it a look over and then go to the list under Group Buys and join in: viewtopic.php?f=85&t=22457#p282948

John,

Forgive me for being dense :bonk: but by 'set' do we mean one side or both?

Just received my new weather strips from pnm engineering. Very happy with the quality and a lot cheaper than secondhand stuff advertised on ebay!
