The avatar’s filesize must be between 0 and 11 KiB
There is no good reason for this, can someone up it to 100k it used to be bigger didn't it?

I've reduced my avatar picture down to 150x150 pixels, but don't know how to reduce its size to 11.7kB. Any advice would be very welcome!

IrfanView, a very useful program available free on the internet, will allow you to reduce the file size whilst retaining the picture size.

I downloaded someones avatar and pasted my image over the top in ms paint (comes with windows os) did the trick as photoshop just won't do it!? Very odd and annoying but now I know its easy to do.

It wasn't that photo of Geoff with his cat I used, as I thought I might end up on a list on a police computer somewhere.

Just read the topic title again...
I'll bet you that James Cameron did not have this problem with his Avatar!
