Perhaps it is of use for another poor bastard who needs to do the job
1. disconnect the cable entirely from the Throttle body.
2. Disconnect the cable from the plastic clips up to the point where you see it dissapearing behind the wiper motor
3. Now cut the old cable just before the metal bend
4. step into the car and put your feet where your head usually rest. Removing the panel at your knees will help visability
5. Cut the plastic spindle that goes through the metal part of the pedal and separate the plastic part from the lever.
6. Pull the remains of the cable out and go back in an upright position.
7. From the engine side: remove the metal bend, but leave the rubber feed-through in position.
8. Take the new cable and carefully remove the white plastic clip on the pedal end. Carefull! do not damage it or you have a serious problem.
9. Push the metal bend from the new cable in the rubber. (use a little lube)
10. Push the cable through and take back the most uncomfortable position in the seat, tools at hand!
11. Fiddle the cable end back in the plastic part and push it in the correct position again with pointed pliers.
12. Click the plastic part back in the hole of the pedal
13. connect the other end to the throttle and adjust the gap as per manual
