A BIG warning to all SAMCO users of the new kit, concerning the pipe between filter and turbo !!!!
The pipe is coated with rubber on the inside where the ends of the hose are mounted and the coating can come loose, ruining your compressor-wheel, or entire turbo.
How do i know?
I have a car in that developed a strange sound under boost. Inspection of the turbo learned that several vanes of the compressor where bend but not heavily damaged. A bend vane will not work off course and might even touch the housing which means instant death beyond repair.
The turbo is meanwhile rebuilt.but i did not find a cause until...
Inspection of the intercooler internals showed a lot of rubber, the same color as the coating of the hose! (red)
My advice for now: Get it off as soon as possible and place the old pipe back
If you inspect the hose from the inside: check for rubber bits missing. If something is missing: they can be found in the intercooler. I found parts on both sides of the intercooler... It is highly doubtful if you can clean the intercooler from the bits, so this may be scrapped as well
I don't even want to know what the parts did in the head I will contact Samco Monday morning
Please inform anybody that you know that owns this hose!
