Cooling Fans, (UK, Turbo, no air-con)

I'm just waiting to get my rad back from being re-cored, then I'll post some pictures.

I paid £80+P&P for a pair, (£10 P&P), however I've already aproached the guy and he says he'll do 5 pairs (10 fans) for £60 pair (+undiscussed P&P) - which I thought was pretty good.

I'm happy to fund a group buy for 5 people (10 fans), but wasn't going to say much more until I had pictures to show how good they look.

They are just bare wire tailed, so you have to connect them to your loom - not a problem for anyone handy with a soldering iron, but some people might not be too keen. I was going to go on to say that, if any buyers wanted to cut the plugs of their (scrap) renault fans, and post them to me up-front, I could solder & heatshrink the correct plugs onto the fans (which is what I'm doing with mine).

I read with interest the "fits some S2s" comment on the group buy thread.

Any idea what the difference is? Was there a replacement rad for late S2s?

AFAIK, the later fan was just a lotus substitute due to unavailability of the renault fan. The rad & frames have never changed, so I guess the later fan must mount on an adaptor plate of some kind; don't really know.

The later fan is also NLA from lotus...

That said, I dont think anyone with the later fans has had any problems anyway?

Send him a PM. Remember, he was buying in bulk and HE replaced the connections on the replacement fans to make them usable with the M100...

I bought these ones from Ebay, looked identical to Gordon's and needed the same mods to fit, although there are no plugs. I just chopped the old ones off the original fan. 9 inch I believe but check first, it's been a while.

Panic maybe over, I managed to find some on eBay that look to be a good fit. The seller measured the distance between the fixing holes and they are the same, so finger crossed they fit

Just a quick question: why is "UK, Turbo, no air-con" specified?
Do they list different fans for N/A's or cars without air-con?
I just would have thought that the difference was in the control system, rather than the fans themselves, that's all.
You could be discouraging other potential buyers, when the same items are equally compatible for their cars.
