New Front Windscreen

Postby GoM100Go » Sat 03.05.2014, 20:24

Just had my front windscreen replaced by Safelite. Looks great, My insurance company used a company in Massachusetts called prosourceglass. About 575+shipping then whatever Safelite charged for installation. I am lucky that in San Diego they do a lot of exotics and replacing was no problem, came out great with new trim from JS and they reused the corner caps. It looks great! It only cost me my deductible ($100). FYI for American car owners.

Steve - have you tried having it professionally filled? I've done that a few times and they mostly disappear and never spider or crack again in my experience.

That's possibly the nicest looking red Elan I've ever seen.
The colour looks deep and rich, the lines of the Federal rear tub are clean, the wheels compliment it, and those rear light units and fairings behind the seats are excellent. Has it had the LGM treatment?

Very cool, James! Good to know in case Smaug ever takes a hit in the glass. :agree: with the comments above - the car is looking wonderful. Sorry we didn't see you at Rolling British Car Day.

It is the LGM rear Valence with the LED rear pods. Thank you for the compliments, I really like it.

Mine also started as a star, but we had some weird hot to cold, cold to hot weather and that caused the crack to run. :| I missed the run this year, we were out of town.
