Gaskets

Trying to secure some new gaskets for Exhaust Manifold to Head, turbo to manifold, turbo to down pipe, do I need any others to refit the turbo? If so what?

It seems SJS can supply these but does any one know if they are competitively priced or if not them then who else?

By the time you've bought them individually - you might be just as well pricing up a complete head set.
I need some for the inlet side so we could come to some arrangement which might help you to offset some of your costs.

The Turbo to manifold & turbo to downpipe *should* be good to go lots of times - they are a solid metal (copper/brass/steel?) gasket which should just need a wipe over with fine wet&dry or wire wool to clean up any crabby bits.....

...the manifold to head gasket is a soft 'compressable' type and I've re-used them with success on many ocassions - the torque on the studs/nuts isn't huge so it doesn't tend to deform.

As long as it has been fitted 'dry' and not with any sealant, and looks undamaged, I'd give it a go.

(but if you'd said yesterday I would have stuck a new one in with the manifold which I sent off this morning )

If you do need a new one, I got mine from Rock Auto as I was getting some other stuff at the time - the unit price is only £2.36, but shipping is £16.56

Worthwhile if it is part of a bigger order, otherwise it's SJs at £15.42 + VAT & delivery..... so a £2 part will cost you £20 whichever way you look at it

Edit - a 'split' of a set with someone else is probably a good idea - the HG is probably scrap anyway, and there will be some other bits in there worth having - notably the camshaft end seals, cam cover gasket, and valve stem seals...

It's going to take a couple of days for the manifold to get there, but Rock Auto wont get them here in that time!!!!

Well, seeking a quote from SJs has resulted in them offering to supply at plus £50; so Geoff if you have them available I'd be grateful if I could pop over at the weekend and then join in with a Rockauto buy and backfill to you later.

Guys, if we are rockautoing then I need to look at what else I might need, but thoughts on how we go about this please

There's the copper washers for the oil and water banjo fittings.
10 x 16 mm, and
12 x 18 mm
