Brake servo

The brake servo on my car has failed, and there is not a replacement to be found anywhere. Does anyone know what vehicle the servo was originally sourced from please? Many thanks

Brake servo failures are pretty rare, so we may be able to help you find one for a reasonable price.
There are a couple of people on here breaking Elans at the moment look up Surfboardfiller and Jeemy.

What are the signs of an dead servo?

They are usually very sturdy. The more common problem is usually a bad vacuum hose or check-valve (Lotus calls that the connector and grommet). Sometimes, the internal diaphram will tear but then it will have a huge vacuum leak.

Look at replacing the Brake master cylinder with the Opel version to improve the pedal feel and response: viewtopic.php?f=41&t=22781&hilit=brake+master&start=40#p287227

Johan gives the part number and an affordable source here: viewtopic.php?f=41&t=22781&p=294654&hilit=brake+master#p294586. It seems to be a Europe part because the Pontiac version has different threads.

Same part number for both sides, so yes, it will be fine.
