KIA Vigato

Postby Terreneuve » Sat 28.06.2014, 01:52

Hi

I am new to the forum and recently purchased a Vigato from Japan.

It is VIN 0001 and I am trying to find some additional history on Vigato production.

I know the basics from web searches but am looking for sources of more information.

Does anyone know how many Vigatos were actually made and what other markets they were sold in?

Also, is there a source for parts and service manuals?

Thanks for your time.

John

Hi John,
Thanks for the introduction.
I've approved your first post and so welcome.
Where are you from - can you put your location in your profile?
Also, could we see some pictures of your car please?
Striking fear into the hearts of duplicate posts everywhere...! :P

Until I just Googled it, I was unaware that Kia also marketed their Elan as a Vigato.
I can't answer any of your questions, but welcome.

You can find a PDF version of the Vigato parts guide at www.lotusm100.com/manuals

All of the other m100 manuals are listed there as well.

Be patient, the files are big and take time downloading.

Toronto, but I've been to St. John's many times and to the east coast a lot in general.

Hi John,

Congratulations for your new car and for your excellent colour decision 8)

VIN 0001 is very cool! How does the VIN begin? 100 or 200?

Sadly most of the history is for ever deleted due to the Asia financial crash in the late 90s when KIA went bang...

The car itself was sold under a few names: Élan, Vigato, Roadster, Sportscar.

Your question reminds me, that I have to sum some facts about the car we know, like I have promised Wayne.

Enjoy the car and happy Elaning :)

Hi Don,

The last digits of the vin begin with 200, am I correct to think that may mean 2nd year of production??
