Search for TLA's Please

I saw Ian's post so I thought I would ask again - We might have moved hosts etc since I last asked.

Please could the admins enable searches for words with three letters?

At the moment a search for: ARB, AFR, CAS, CEL, CTS, ECU, ECM, EGR, FPR, HES, IAC, MAF, MAT, MAP, PCV, TPS, will yield no results.

So if you have a CEL due to the HES in your CAS you get nothing, even though there is loads of useful stuff.

Extending the search to include 3 letter words means re-indexing the whole database of posts which can expand the size of the DB quite significantly as well as take a very long time. If the forum uses MySQL as the back end, then its more complex to achieve; not saying it can't be done - just that it's not quite as straight forward as changing an option from 4 to 3

Having said that, Google has no such restrictions, so searching sommat like "site:forum.lotuselancentral.com cas" via Google returns the results you are after. Not ideal, but it does the job.

Yes but last time I asked the answer was that 3 letter words were excluded due to server load - now I under stand that server load isn't an issue.

Yes I do use google - Just seems a bit daft to keep using google to search LEC - The search is quite good so long as you don't want to search for something with 3 letters and that constitutes a lot of the useful content here.
