New Arias Forged Pistons

Hello all,

I am Jordan Keefover, Isuzu enthusiast and owner of Overspeed Motorsports. I was in recent need of some forged pistons for the 1.6l 4xe1 turbocharged power plant in the 1991 Isuzu Impulse RS. I contacted a well known US piston manufacture by the name of Arias pistons and arranged for a small production run to be accomplished. Most of the sets are spoken for but I figured I would give you guys a crack at them as well. 80.5mm bore
9.2:1 CR
Double pin oilers
Floating pin design
Retention of stock wrist pin specs (20mm by 2.5in)
All pistons come with rings and retainers. If you want pins it's a separate charge.
Price USD $519.00 with out pins, $569.00 with pins.
Shipping is not included in the price but you can chose the method of preferred shipping you would like me to use.

.... now, I'm the only (current) UK buyer, but was wondering if anyone else is thinking of a set and would want to combine postage - I've already offered to play postman to Jordan (the organiser) if anyone else is getting on board.

Nick, for you, probably no benefit......

..... I want them for my old engine, to do a full re-build on it.

One of the reasons I swapped it out of the red elan (apart from the HG having gone) was that when I had the head off, the pistons seemed a bit loose in the bores, and as it had 150K on the clock, will benefit from a re-bore and new bearings for the crank.....

...crank bearings are cheap and readily availlable, but pistons (being forged on the Turbo, as opposed to cast on the NA) are a custom made item (Lotus went obsolite many years ago, as did Isuzu).

Getting them in the UK is ridiculously expensive (SW Lotus list them at nearly £700 - and they get them from Robie The Robot in USA) - they are $630 + postage from him, so these ones will save me a few quid.

Standard pistons are 80mm diameter, so these are 0.5mm oversize, to allow for a 0.020" overbore (I know we shouldn't mix metric and imperial measurements, but they are listed in metric and I still think in imperial).

If you don't need a re-build, then theyre no great use to you!

(except it will increase your engine size by a few cc's - more )

These pistons should allow the boost to be turned up and therefore more power!!!

I was thinking about installing these in my spare engine, the one that has only done 8 miles .

One more set has become available. You have to love it when someone commits and backs out of the sale. Please let me know if anyone is interested. Dave bought a set from me and shipped they were right about 400 pounds total. Your exchange rate favors you big time.

Currently there is nothing wrong with engine in the car.

Its only done 25000 miles

The spare engine is exactly that a spare. It has only done 8 miles.

I hadnt read Daves message above properly, I didn't realise we already had Forged Pistons.
