A post seal replacing

Postby david.bradley » Sat 13.09.2014, 21:08

Hi all
I've tried to follow all the posts around alternative rubber seals, but from what I've read I dont think there are any for sale.
I've just looked at my old ones and the centres are dry & crumbly - which cant be good
Paul Matty seems to list them at £70plus, plus VAT
I'd prefer rubber, but at the moment I just need to sort things out quickly.
What is involved in replacing the seals - both getting the old ones off/out and how the new ones are fixed in please
Thanks

They are fairly simple to fit, they just clip in at the top and then you just need to push the long edge in with the handle of a spoon and then a little sikaflex at the bottom.

Easy to pull off too, as long as you don't mind tearing them. All you may have to do is scrape out the old sikaflex

i managed to remove mind without damaging them. They were brand new when i bought the car, but i got my hands on some of Jamie's rubber a posts
