Is £11k unreasonable for a virtually 1 owner sub 50,000 mile hand built Sportscar from a respected marque?
(Not really discussing price but desirability)
There is a good article in this months Clasic & Sportscar market report explaining why cars become attractive to collectors/enthusiasts.
Apparently it's the correlation between the age you start to lust after certain cars, say 14-20 and the age when you can afford to fulfil the dream, say 45-60.
The Baby Boomers are coming to the end of their driving careers and their cars are 40-50 years old, MG's, TR''s etc.
Now it's the Generation X'rs wanting the cars they played with on their Playstations, Escort Cosworth's and dare I say it Elans.
There will always be scrapers for sale but good cars, Capri's,Golf Gti's even XR3i's are heading for £15k.
I think we may be in danger of selling ourselves short.

Is it at all possible this car came from the factory with those rear lights?.

A brand new one of these rear lights sold on eBay three days ago for £121. It was advertised as a M100 part with a part number A100M6056F. So it could be factory original however I've only ever seen this design on the Renault Alpine 610. If he'd advertised it with Renault Alpine club members he would have probably got closer to £300 for it. The Alpine owners are desperate for these lights.
Kicking myself for not buying it and making a few quid.

My wife's just divorced me because I wouldn't open the car door for her!
To be fair I panicked and swam straight for the surface.
