Hi, just bought my first Elan. Some say it is my mid life crisis car but see no point in working for 30 years without some fun along the way. She is a pacific blue with 59,000 miles and 2owners. Have bought it for having a blast on sunny weekends but it is very hard to keep in the garage - am seriously worried for my 3000 mile classic insurance limit. All seems to work fine apart from my drivers door speaker and the clock. Not priority fixes as I'd rather listen to the exhaust note (never had a car that pops and burbles off throttle) and the clock is in a totally ridiculous place. One thing i would like is an immobiliser as she did have a Lotus alarm but this seems to have been removed. Any advice on something effective but reasonably priced would be welcomed.

Welcome to the forum.
Now if only there was somebody reasonably close who could help bust that 3k mileage limit...!

I can't think of anyone better to point you in the right direction Matt
(in a mile radius or maybe two

Hi, I'd seen the name Enright featuring prominently on this forum and saw the location was nearby. Would be interesting to meet up with you. How do we communicate direct - shall I send you an email?

Welcome Matt - that sounds wrong for some reason.
I am a bit further north but not that far away. My 5k limit is getting closer by the day, gonna have to be the Rotterdam - Hull ferry home.
I had a Toad alarm and immobiliser fitted, the alarm is fine and a good price but the install was rubbish, suggest you look aound and ask some of the closer members for recommendations.

That's why I can't be bothered to fix my clock either!
G UK also lives fairly close to you.
