Postby JPope » Mon 13.10.2014, 16:34

Hey guys, A quick intro. I Jeff, As the subject says, I am new to the lotus world. My First Lotus. I have owned it for a couple months now and Love it. I am the second owner of this great little car. It will be driven year round as we only have 2 cars. the car will be getting painted in the next year or so, as the clear is peeling. any insight to the cars would be good as i have the service manual. i am still looking for the electrical Manual. I am a certified tech with 7 years experience with a certification or paint and body, most work will be performed by me and the wife.

Hi Jeff

All the manuals are available in the manual section of this site. A really helpful service!!!
There will be some differences in the electric manual as yours is a fed, and only the pages for the uk are supplied, but the differences are slight, and mainly to do with the alarm and radio... the rest is pretty much the same

And dont forget the wikiLEC section... also a great source of knowledge.

Enjoy your Elan

I posted some pictures under the Projects section. I currently don't have any upgrades. However i am going to be getting a exhaust, Either the Cybox, Or have my local race shop fabricate one for me. I have found some wheels which i will have to save up for since they are custom milled wheels so that i can keep the +60mm off set from the factory. once the exhaust is done i will also be chipping and adding the short throw shifter to the car as well as getting it painted. I will be staying with the factory calypso red.

Hi Jeff,

Welcome to LEC - I'm also new here and have already found the support and encouragement of the folks here really helped me to get started with my car - also a Calypso red example. :-)

Also, despite not being very well travelled, I have been to Dayton - stayed at the Hope Hotel after flying Delta into Cincinatti, in about 2000ish. Long enough ago to forget lots of it, but for the fact my room overlooked the Wright-Patterson Air Force base. Small world!

Jeff,
Welcome to LEC. It is a fine place made up of fine people. You just have to remember that, when you post a question, many of us will answer a different one in our enthusiasm to be helpful, but knowing that the answer you posed is a little outside of our own knowledge (I speak for myself here - but I don't think I am alone).

I'm sorry to disappoint you that there will be no 2017 Elan. Lotus management changed. On the plus side, you can spend more time in your new M100. You did well to find one with one previous owner.
