Bonnet stay retaining clip

Postby david.bradley » Tue 14.10.2014, 21:57

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, I've searched for half an hour now & cant find anything.

I've lost the clip that fits to the bonnet and holds the stay in place, when bonnet is shut
Mine had been loose for ever & I should have fixed it - but never got round to it, and now it's gone.

Cant find anything on SJS
Any body any idea if this is the same as any other car of the period

Thanks

I just missed their last one 2 weeks ago - mine was broken, so I added it to my order..... only to find that they were out of stock and not getting any more.....

....that said, Landrovers use something which should do the job - part number PRC3180 (ebay item) - but as my car is away at the moment, I can't check to see if the clip will fit the stay rod.

Admitedly, it doesn't need to be an exact fit, as my bonnet has the gas struts, but i like to have it available for use in heavy wind conditions, which the struts don't hold up to.... Hence, I can just cable tie it together to hold it all out of the way if it is a loose fit.

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?
