Piper Exhausts turbo downpipe development thread

Doesn't work with the ElanScan_Beta (0.10.12.71), Office 2007 on Windows 7... either.
First attemt was with ElanScan (0.9.9.61), Office 2007 on Windows 7.

Any suggestions ?
Can't imagine Office 2010 is the only working Excel version ?

What is the problem exactly? Do you have an error message? (sorry, i've got the memory of a goldfish these days...)

Exporting to excel is an Elanscan feature, not an office...
The elanscan file output should work on all excel versions, so not only 2010

Elanscan Export to Excel gives me an error message : "Old format or invalid type library..."

Just doing some research as ive currently got the manifold, turbo, downpipe and pce off...

I was looking at getting the piper downpipe, has there been any further devlelopments? I have a peco and will be porting to 21mm due to existing boostcreep. How many people have had problems compared to those who have not? If its likley to induce more creep even after porting then ill give it a miss as I don't fancey removing everything again.

I've got the ported wastegate, Everest chip and Piper downpipe without any modifications.
Exhast ist on the standard diameter, cat still there (S2) and an Janspeed Sport muffler.
No boost creep here.

Dear all,

I recently had my car dyno-ed on a steady state dyno.
The results are below. Just minutes before me another Elan was on the Dyno as well (see chart). This car was completely stock, but with an aftermarket 2" exhaust with no main cat (but pre-cat in place) No chip!

What do you think?

My setup:
1. S2, closed loop
2. Switcher (on programme 4 which should be Elysum)
3. Stock turbo in excellent condition, 21.5 mm wastegate port
4. New OEM exhaust manifold
5. reconditioned head + new OEM gasket
6. MY modified piper downpipe
7. 1'st bend is Piper as well (2.25")
8. After 1st bend it is all PECO
9. Stock intercooler + pipes
10. New injectors
11. MSD Coils

By the way, the correction factor on the graphic above is 1.22,
so at the wheels: 167 PK! That's an odd figure when you look at the spec's of our little car!

Meanwhile I added a deflector in Peter's Downpipe as well recently.
We'll have to wait (hopefully very long!) for colder whether to see whether it has been successful in order to prevent boostcreep

Funny that you mention this now!

In the cold days neither Peter or I experienced boostcreep. I still don't (as I am more in the garage repairing than driving nowadays...)
However last weekend Peter did experience some boostcreep. Allthough the weather was not that cold, other boostcreep circumstances were optimal:
Long motorway cruising and suddenly maximum throttle. This scenario was with my car always the scenario likely to create boost creep, but then at colder days obviously. But why?
I don't even have a clue at the moment!
However since the outside temperature was high, i have good hope that something else caused the boostcreep last weekend with Peter's silver bullet ...

Now... Any speculations why the described scenario would be considered as a worst case scenario????

Oh, I recently wrapped my downpipe in fibre glass tape. Not sure if this was wise, I need more often gloves now while tinkering and it is nasty when you leak oil on it.

A question for all the folks out there that have the 2.5 Piper downpipe and have also fitted the Piper 2.25 system.

What Link pipe have you got CLOT7 or CLOT8 ? the information might be on your receipt.

I'm thinking that maybe the exiting position/point is in a different position.

I have this set:

1 SILENCER SYSTEM (CLOT8C)
(2.25"/57.2mm) is made up of
- REAR SECTION WITH SILENCER (CLOT8A/R)
- FRONT WITHOUT SILENCER (CLOT8B/F)
- LINK PIPE (CLOT8LINK)
- SYSTEM FITTING KIT (CLOT8/FK)

(the loudest)
But I only see one flexi?

Or do you mean the 2.25"and the 2.5" are diffent besides the diameter as well?

I was wondering if the Link pipe is correct for my set up, as everything went nicely into position up until the point where I had to fit the Link pipe CLOT8LINK,
from that point onwards it was a struggle and I actually thought I might have the wrong part?
I did however (after a great struggle) manage to fit the link, but it is giving me cause for concern.

I was wondering if I should have been sent the CLOT7LINK ?
If this is the case then the exiting position/point on the standard downpipe is in a different place to the Piper downpipe ?
That would make sense as to why it isn't fitting together as I would expect.

My previous exhaust was a Paul Matty and I made the flexi up myself taking great care not to put the down pipe under strain.

But having said all that you are using the CLOT8LINK (flexi)

No not short, if bolted for the back I had to force it up and over to the down pipe by 30 to 40 mm
