Well I've been out in a couple of showers and so far so good. If the Sugru holds up I'll use it on the other side too. :)

I'm actually a bit disappointed the rest of my seals are good because it means I've no excuse to request a set of Jamie's wonder seals! :P

Just a quick update, I've managed to replicate the complete door seals with rubber ones :D , all one piece from the part above the door latch right round to the mirror, provisionally looks stunningly tidy, no more bodged up burst sponge!. Good news is the donor seals are available to all, bad bit, making the shaped part above the latch is a bit of a challenge, although now I have worked it out it will be a lot easier.

Full details and the all important pictures henceforth if anyone is interested?, Steve? :poke: :-D

Jamie,

Certainly interested - before mine gets back from the painters and I end up bodging the old foam things back on!

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

I was given a roll like sellotape of black rubber seal which has made in USA stamped on the inside, seems pretty good although I am just learning how to get a smooth finish.

I also have what was sold to me as door seals but apperas to be two lengths of flat metal about the length of each door and a rubber seal twice that length, they are supposed to fit the length of the doors along the outside from wing mirror to end of the door, any ideas how to fit these?

old ones will need removing

Paul,

I think you're mixing metaphors, the door gas two main seals, one, a perishing rubber thing that goes around the door from a pillar to b pillar, the other is a window seal that goes across the top of the door. I think you are referring to the latter in which case see here: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=22260&p=288060&hilit=Window#p288060
