If you mean the horizontal rubber strip between the window and the door, they are available from PNM engineering for about £70 a pair (or they can be modified yourself from a 'standard' profile bit - there are instructions availlable.
If you mean the spongy 'A' pillar seals, then see below answer.

mine's from them were 70 plus VAT, nearly 100 quid. after finishing the job i decided if i ever had to do it again i would "refurbish" the seals that i took out.

Complete sets of OE roof seals are sometimes available as a set, or some can be bought seperately, however, Jamie-N in Scotland has adapted EPDM rubber seals to replace ALL roof 'A' pillar and door seals - instructions are on the forum, or he will sell you a complete set (or whatever you need).

I must have missed the bit in the post where jamie said he would sell sets, i gotta contact him if i recall correctly a full set of seals from SJ was around 400 quid when i bought my car.

for 4k i would expect to find a car in pretty good condition, the description you give I would stay away from it. but that's just my opinion.

That looks like Aqua to me, which is a lovely colour, and it's great that it's only got 43k on it for a J reg (certainly not a 2003 car though)! However the thing I'm most intrigued about is the treatment that it's received to its rear end.
I doubt you'll ever see another on these shores with a rear spoiler and rear tub "cut" like that, because that has the American rear. There's nothing wrong with it - in fact it's BETTER, but I just didn't think they sold them over here like that. I've certainly never seen one anyway, yet at J reg it's mid way through the S1 build so it baffles me.

Its RHD so did that rear end go on any other exported cars? I'd expect it to be LHD if a US import. Maybe a rear end shunt in the past so the owner decided to use the US rear end in the rebuild? In which case is the chassis straight? For the price they want I would expect absolutely everything in terms of its history and I'd want an original set of wheels as I doubt those have the correct offset unless they were specially built for the car. Budget for the usual major service incl. cambelt and water pump as well.
I like the colour though.

Having looked at the advert and the DVLA website, and then using my own judgement (based on nowt other that what I can see in the public domain) i reckon that:-

It was made in 1991(from the design of the rear index plate frame - no perspex) as a RHD ROW (Rest Of the World) car and exported to somewhere that drives on the left (Australia, Japan, H/K etc) - maybe even Channel Islands or Gib, who knows? - the ROW shell uses the FED rear spoiler design.

It was brought back to this country sometime between first export (as a New car) and date of first UK registration, 1st September 2003, and alocated an Age Related Plate (Hence the 'J' prefix).

This may explain the low mileage - there's nowhere to go to in some of the export markets!!! (and servicing may not be readilly availlable), and the unusual colour/interior combo - those seats would have been 'special order' at that time.


Of course, the other (cynical) side of the coin is that it is a '91 car which has been written off, re-built in 2003 with a new chassis and body (Lotus still had RHD ROW shells as recently as 2008) using enough parts from the donor to retain the 'J' plate.......


....... I would lean towards the first option (but would expect a papertrail to confirm it before purchase!).

All three cars are overpriced in my opinion
They may sell but I suspect not at the advertised prices.
They all need work and are not special cars so don't deserve the high asking prices.
All three cars look good in the pictures but having seen one and talked to the others they are a long way from perfect.
They don't have new hoods , seals , or upgraded brakes , shockers ect so need money spending on.
Will watch what happens

im afraid the M100 market value is going up, i used to see plenty of them at around 2=3k a couple of years ago, i havent seen a working one on sale for less than 4k since i bought mine.

maybe wait till the Autumn to buy one ?

There is a lot of undeserved, IMHO, credit given to S2s, (I'm not trying to open a can of worms over relative merits etc), but as with anything, the market will determine the value, however with a bit of judicious study and the application of knowledge gleamed from the experts on here and I think a nice SE at 3 or 4k with another similiar sum spent on it would undercut these and provide a very nice car for a few years with minimal depreciation. Just a thought like!
