Electric Folding Roof conversion

After a long period of development, and with the help of a MX5 and a company called sloof roofs, we have developed and produced a prototype electric folding roof system for the M100.
It uses the existing roof frame, mechanism and stowage lid so there is no visible changes to the appearance of the car; however, it does add weight.

It works similar to the MX5 but it is far less superior and not as fast as the MX5 2.0 Roadster Coupe.

The cost of the kit is going to depend on numbers so if you are interested, add your name to the list:-

I am still trying to cost up the faulty seals on my 7 speed gearbox so sadly don't have funds to contribute to this.

Do you think you could engineer it to stop midway? If we've had our Elans laid up over winter and haven't cleaned the rust of the discs we could use it as an emergency parachute brake when we find the brakes are crap.

No use to me either, I have already went way above that and created the worlds first Lotus Elan CC, Exact same setup as the 206 / 207, works like a dream and its a straight swap virtually.

No problem, happy to give you clarity anytime. To answer your other queries:-

1. We could make it from recycled parts from Douglas Valley Breakers but it will cost at least twice as much?

We can make them to whatever design you want but the Union Flag seems to be a popular choice at the moment.

You can even fit a sunroof if you wish.
