Volcano Orange Elan

Hi Guys
Well against the advice of some i did it, and i love it.posting.php?mode=post&f=18#
Looks great and sounds good too.
To tell the truth it's not Mclaren Volcano Orange that was a £1000 a litre this was around £60 a litre but has the effect I was after. A total of 8 coats i believe.
Before you ask the wheels are 48mm offset and drive fine, well see how long the bearings last.
The exhaust is routed through one of the side pipes and the other is a dummy mainly due to me getting nervous about the close proximity of the petrol tank.
I added Led's inside the rear spoiler for a high level brake light and white ones in the front bumper.

Can't say I like the side pipes too much, but if you do, that's all that matters. I do really love the color though. When the day comes that mine gets a re-spray, I've wanted to go with something like that for some time. Nice looking car.

If I'd had money and time, there would be a burnt orange Elan on the driveway (i Forgot... I don't have a driveway )
Good for you that you did what YOU like. I hope you can enjoy it for a long time to come.

Nice colour But presumably the hot exhaust gases vent over the rubber tyres, rear calipers and fibreglass sills ? Not a particularly brilliant idea Handy for frying your bacon rashers on though

That's making me hungry Scott Gonna' go to the Co-op and get some Lorne sausage and a couple of tattie scones as per the Lambo/Ferarri breakfast meet. Might need to fry em' up on the back of the PECO though as I don't have side exhausts

The colour (or color depending on where you are!) is outstanding, best non OEM I have seen on an Elan but.......sidepipes hey, Its your car and personal taste is always a starter for a good flame war, but I beg you to lose them, just my opinion, unless sidepipes are coming back in? (If so I still have a pair of flairs and platform shoes hidden away somewhere, just don't put shaggy carpet on your dash) Again, truly awsome paint but.....

What would justify £1000 a litre? Are the paint's metallic flakes made from gold or something?
