Power Steering Pump refurb

My mechanic advises that my pump is leaking, (there is certainly a lot of fluid around the vicinity which I thought was due to the bodged low pressure pipe that was in there). At present I don't know the nature of the leak, however is it possible to refurbish these pumps, seals, bearing etc.

Has anyone done this?

Or, was this pump developed solely for the Elan, or is it freely available off another GM vehicle and if do then which ones?

Can any one look at their spare (out of car) pump and advise if any part nos or other marking on it, please?

Pete: There are rebuild kits listed on Rock Auto for the GM pump under the GEO Storm, 1991 both the SOHC and DOHC version use the same kit. It is only gaskets and seals.
