Coolant fluid erupted all over the entire engine bay!

Postby TOWATL » Fri 12.06.2015, 15:19

Hey Guys!

The troubles with my Elan never seem to stop... :?

It appears that today, during heavy city traffic, my radiator gave in and exploded in an unruly fashion. Coolant fluid erupted all over the engine bay.

I had the car towed to a workshop and am now awaiting their assessment of the damage caused.

However, I am now on the lookout for replacements for the radiator itself and possibly some of the other parts involved. As the Wiki lists replacements for the fans and some switches etc, but does not list a direct replacement for the radiator, I would like to ask you guys for your experience / suggestions on replaceing the radiator on an S2 Elan. Does the one from the ISUZU IMPULSE work as a direct swap? Rock Auto lists a few options for the 1993 model.

Thanks a lot!

Cheers,

Wolfgang

Sorry to hear your continuing woes Wolfgang. The Isuzu one is not right - talk to Steve at Coolexperts and make sure you ask for the LEC discount:

PS the other job I'm doing for you is in hand, as soon as I can find the connectors in the loft.
