New version of Intermediate Seals

Postby Jamie N » Sat 18.07.2015, 21:20

These were made recently but i have not had time to post them up. Completly new way of making them from the previous ones, these are as close to the originals as i can possibly get but made from EPDM Rubber. Instead of the "Nut in a blob of sealant" that the originals have for adjustment, i have used a plastic insert which has more travel, and more importantly wont rust solid and make them almost impossible to remove!, used with Stainless steel screws they can be fitted and removed quickly and easily. Although not visible the backing plates on them are also Stainless steel.

The upper seal is the original, although not in too bad condition its still Sponge, which is just nae use to Man or Beast. :D .

This one shows the side part of the Header seal with the original style of adjustment on the left, new idea on the right, these inserts are mounted into the Stainless backplates.

All the other seals removed for better pictures.

The ultimate aim for me is make it look fresh, modern and as tidy as possible , the better waterproofing is just an added bonus.

Having seen these seals first hand, these new type are of the highest quality and a huge improvement on the OEM parts which still seem to carry a premium when they come up on Ebay!

Just need to find something to distract Jamie long enough so I can swap the seals from Jamies car on to mine
