Ignition key blanks

Hi

I have been trying locally to get the dw04rap key blank for the ignition with no luck.
I have also tried on the net, but they seem to want more than 30usd shipping charges (and on top of that I will have to pay swiss import and admin fees, so the 2 keys would cost about £70)

Anybody know of a source in the UK?

If possible, I would prefer the blade type, as I am fitting a remote from www.jom.de to the central locking system, and the fob can take a key blade m.jom.de/item/31303930

Hi Dave,

The ignition keys were standard GM keys here in the UK but I am not sure if they are still easily available.
I am not sure if there were slight variations either. A picture may be helpful to match it up.

When I had some boot/trunk keys cut, they were a US only blank & many outlets will only cut keys they provide so getting them cut was not straightforward.

I was looking at these a month ago when I was sorting my alarm system/spare keys out.....

..... but gave up when I saw that they were.....















about £2 each




Have a look here You'll need to click the GM logo, and then there are other options - the YM28 on the right is the one you need (well, it says it's for a Lotus, and looked right to me!)

And I presume that key YM27 is the glovebox???

Thanks... I checked the specs for the two blanks (dw04rap and ym28), and they match up.. the ym28 may be a tad thicker, however with a 20 year old lock, this is not going to make any difference. Proof of the pudding will be when I cut them I will post here what my experience is.

Also, they were only £1.95 each, and the shipping was £2.40.

I ordered three straight away, (one to practice on)

Managed to get two ignition keys cut for my Élan at Timpson (Taunton Branch) today along with the last of their Boot Key.

I shall still need to check that they work but codes are:

Ignition: JMA OP DP
Boot: Ilco S1098H B45

Pete, I got spare from the little shop in Sheldon Road, YM 28P (Vauxhall GM) and boot key but cant remember that code

Tested the keys that I bought (referred above) and they are sound. Rather nice to have a couple of spares for the first time!
