Topic notifications

Postby mitreklov » Fri 31.07.2015, 20:12

For some reason I've stopped receiving email topic notifications for topics I am subscribed to. Notifications stopped coming through around July 18th. I've checked the subscription status on the topics which indicates I am still subscribed.

I've checked, I have no filtering on my email client that would block them.

Is there an on/off notification preference somewhere that may have been set wrong?

Anyone else had this problem?

Thanks

Tim

Same here - one for the Domain Admins. The host may have changed its PHP 'Sendmail' conditions effectively killing the forum emails.

And there was I thinking it was just me...

There is definitely something screwy going on with my topic subscriptions. The screen shot shows the topics is am supposedly subscribed to but and lists them all but the second line says "You are not subscribed to any forums" :?
This can't be right can it?

If it thinks I'm not subscribed to any topics that would explain why I no longer get update emails.

Anyone any ideas?

I've got a similar display Tim. In the case of PHPBB (this forum software) I believe that you can subscribe to forums as well as threads (i.e. receive email notifications about all new threads and posts appearing in particular forums) as well as individual topics (threads). I used to run PHPBB on the VOC forum before switching to MyBB some time ago - both are free and I chose extra features of MyBB over the outright stability / simplicity of PHPBB, which keeps me busier than I expect the Admins need to be here.

As such, it makes sense to me - you're subscribed to the 'watched topics' listed, but haven't taken out any generic forum level subscriptions.

The email send function at the server end appears to be broken, don't think it's a corrupt database or your fault. vBullerin

Who is the poor, almost unappreciated, Admin of the LEC forum / domain?

I managed to contact Martin (maz-r), who kindly reactivated my account, he is going to investigate the email problem however I get the impression it may not be easy, something about having limited access to the required settings.

Thanks Ian for the plea on my behalf, back in the family now :D

Have the topic notifications emails broken again?
They had been working but seem to have stopped again. Anyone else seeing the same?

Actually so did I, so maybe its not broken.

I asked as there were posts to topics I have subscribed to that weren't notified.

Not to worry, its probably me.
