Which apart from making me smile also offers some relief that at least one other person must negotiate the damned speed bumps (and he is even lower than us!)

Ah yes...but with an Elise you have to be able to open the door to it's fullest extent to allow you to crawl out on all fours over the high sill... so can understand why driver gave themselves some 'wiggle room'... could be worse - once saw a Mercedes with gull-wing doors with cars parked so close each side the lady couldn't open them to get in...

Lost my spare remote alarm fob back in February - looked everywhere for the damn thing! :x

Down on the alotment today lifting the last of the seasons spuds (cue there's only on f in Geof Smith humour!) and guess what I dug up. Yep, only an M100 alarm key fob! And after a quick battery change it only still f**king works :bananasex:

Stinks of horse s**t though

It was a beautiful day in Aberdeen! Sunny and warm. Did lots of gardening and had an all-day man-bonfire to burn the weeds and prunings - lots of smoke - no wind - very impressive. Just as well the neighbours are across a field.

Picked up the Lotus from Oakmere after they repaired the gearbox, stuck in a new clutch and oil seal and input shaft, all fluids done and the rusty old Heater valve replaced with a shiney new Plastic version

Drive home in the late autumn sunshine with the top down reminded me how much fun this car is, until I hit the traffic on the M6 that is

car feels great again, no bearing noise on depressing the clutch and still got that rumble from the rear end when the exhaust note changes as you hit the throttle

I had a delve about in the boot of the new Elan, and to my astonishment and delight, pulled out this:

My first early SE's had a Swiss Army knife, the later one didn't...but I've swapped them over. What did the S2 get?

Renewed my SE insurance yesterday - had gone for 3,000 miles p.a. when I took it out but found I'd used it a lot more than I expected so was close to that at MOT time...
Asked what increase to premium would be for 6,000 miles and was told "6 pence" :D
I fancy a trip to the south of France in it next spring (2k there & back) so went for 7,500 instead and that cost extra £10.28...

My S2 (July 1995) has the one on the left, with no knife. And I have found that a leather key fob round badge is just the right size to fit in the recess, which improves the look no end :D

From the Amazon Fire TV reviewers

"I bought this as an electronic babysitter, for my husband, who is five. Oh, wait, not five, 48. I was pig-sick of him watching Netflix on his mobile phone, with his netbook pinging up Facebook messages, with the TV on full blast, and the sound from his Netflix leaking out of his earphones, because he had that on full volume as well, to counter-balance whatever was happening on the TV he wasn't watching. It has worked a treat, as he now watches endless hours of crap on the big TV, while his netbook and phone ping Facebook messages at him, and he lies on the couch, re-arranging his crotch, and grunting.

The installation was easy, despite the fact that I only have full use of one hand, I didn't need any screwdrivers, and I'm not allowed hammers anyway. I did stand on an apple that the dog had taken behind the TV, for dog-reasons, and it squidged between my toes a bit, but I don't suppose that's a universal installation issue, not everyone having a dog that hides fruit behind the TV.

The plug-and-play nature of the device meant that I was able to install without asking for help from a man, and I didn't even break any fingernails. I'm relatively certain I've deleted any links to my social media from Amazon, so the husband won't be able to ferret about, at two in the morning, while he's watching something with boobs in, or yet another concert from the time period when I was being potty-trained, and see all of the nasty things I say about him.

For me, it has been £35 well-spent, although the glut of adverts offering it for £25 have been a bit of a kick in the crotch, I could have spent the extra £10 on gin, but it would have been cheap gin, so there would have been no real gain."

Er, yes. Not a deliberate move (as far as I am aware, for the sceptics among you).
Apparently someone (not me) meant to give him a direct nudge to tell him to tone it down a bit, but hit the "full thermonuclear" instead of the "tactical" button.
Oh well, not the greatest loss our community has ever suffered, although entertainment he was providing was amusing for a little while...
